Dev Ray eves retain inter-college basketball title

Dev Ray College, Nayapally retained the title in the Utkal University Inter-College Women’s Basketball Championship, defeating BJB College 20-2 in an all-Bhubaneswar repeat final here at Biju Patnaik Sports Complex, Vani Vihar today.

Earlier in the three-team league competition, Dev Ray College beat Kendrapara College 27-4, while BJB College got the better of Kendrapara College 8-7. Utkal University Sports Council Director Prof Kabir Mohan Sethi handed over the trophy prizes in the closing ceremony.

Sports Council Physical Education Officer Ambika Prasad Ray, departmental officer Pramod Kumar Nayak, tournament coordinator Dr Prabir Kumar Mohanty, Dr Benudhar Das, Chatrubhuja Jena, Manas Kumar Panda were present on the occasion. All the matches were conducted by Satyabrata Acharya and Deba Prasad Sahoo.
